メイド服についての紹介です。
元々は19世紀末のイギリスに存在していた家事使用人の衣装。本来は仕事着だが、アニメの世界では見た目が重視され、スカートの丈が短かったり、フリルの装飾が過多だったりする。
メイド服を構成するパーツは紺色のワンピース、フリルの付いたエプロン、髪をまとめるためのカチューシャ(ホワイトブリム)の３つからなる。(コスプレの場合は腕や太ももにフリルを付けたりもする)
メイド服には主に2タイプあります。
[ヴィクトリアンメイド服]
仕事着としての機能性を重視。本来のメイド。ロングドレスで装飾は控えめなものが多い。ハヤテのごとく！のマリアさんのイメージですね。
[フレンチメイド]
アニメやフィギュアに多いのはこのタイプ。フリル等の装飾が多く、視聴者を楽しませてくれる。
